Sasha became transgender when she began her high school years. Sasha was not a smooth transition however he was confident that by the support of his family and music Sasha would be able manage it. The coaches of the Voice stayed clear of discussing Sasha's history, but Jim shared his life story with an introduction clip prior to the show. Both Jim and Sasha discussed the music they like in addition to how Sasha began playing the guitar for the first time at six. In an Instagram post he opened up recently about his struggles. Jim was filled with emotion when he shared his reasons for not being in a position to assist through these challenging circumstances.
